Carlos Petta

Carlos Alberto Petta is currently Medical Director of the Center for Human Reproduction of Campinas and Faculty of the Obstetric and Gynecologic Department of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), São Paulo, Brazil. He is also responsible for the endometriosis clinic of the Center for Integrated Health Care of Women (CAISM/UNICAMP).

Carlos Petta graduated in 1985 from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and undertook his residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics also at UNICAMP. He became Professor of Gynecology at the State University of Campinas in 1990. From 1993 to 1994 he spent time at the Unversity of North Carolina, USA where he was awarded a Fellowship in International Family Health.

Professor Petta is involved in numerous educational initiatives at both an international and national level. He has also written authoritatively for numerous medical publications and journals. His main research fields are endometriosis and benefits of hormonal contraceptives. Professor Petta is a Member of the Board of the International Society for Gynecological Endoscopy (ISGE) and Vice-president of the Brazilian Society of Endometriosis.
