Dr. Charles Miller is in private practice in Metropolitan Chicago where he specializes in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and the treatment of infertile couples. His clinic’s live birth rates for 2007 were the highest in virtually every age group in Illinois as reported by the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART).

A graduate of the Honor’s Program in medical education of Northwestern University, he completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Parkland Memorial Hospital. Dr. Miller then matriculated at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Dr. Miller is an internationally renowned expert in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and the treatment of infertility. Per Checkbook.com, the top internet site for physician referral according to the Wall Street Journal, Dr. Miller was recently selected by his peers as the top infertility specialist in metropolitan Chicago. He is the Immediate Past President of the AAGL, the world’s largest organization dedicated to minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and was recently elected Vice President of The International Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy (ISGE); he will be President of the ISGE in 2011. Dr. Miller is included in Castle Connolly’s 9th edition of America’s Top Doctors® (a guide to the top 1% of specialists and subspecialists in the nation) and has been selected as one of Chicago’s TopTierMD’s (an exclusive honor achieved by fewer than 3% of the nearly 6,000 physicians in the broader Chicago area).

Dr. Miller is a founding member of the Society of Robotic Surgeons. He is currently on the Clinical Advisory Board of RESOLVE (The National Infertility Association) and The Endometriosis Association. He is on the Editorial Board of OB/GYN News where he edits the most widely read column in gynecology – The Master’s Class of Gynecologic Surgery. He is also on the Editorial Board of Reviews in Obstetrics and Gynecology and OBGYN.net. Dr. Miller just completed his term on the Editorial Board of JMIG (Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology) and continues to be an ad hoc reviewer for JMIG as well as Fertility and Sterility and the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Miller is the Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery for Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, IL and a Clinical Associate Professor, Department OB/GYN, for the University of Chicago and the University of Illinois At Chicago. Along with Professor Peter O’Donovan, Dr. Miller edited the textbook “Modern Management of Abnormal Uterine Bleeding, First Edition”, Informa Healthcare, March 2008. Dr. Miller has over 60 scientific publications. His most recent articles are as follows: “Unmet Therapeutic Needs for Uterine Fibroids” (The Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology, Jan. 2009, Vol. 16, Issue 1, Pages 11‐21), “Training in Minimally Invasive Surgery – You Say You Want A Revolution” (The Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology, Mar. 2009, Vol. 16, Issue 2, Pages 113‐ 120), “Endometrin for Luteal Phase Support in a Randomized, Controlled, Open Label, Prospective In‐vitro Fertilization Trial Using Combination of Menopur and Bravelle for Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation”, (Fertility & Sterility, April 2009, Vol. 91, Issue 4, Pages 1012‐1017), and “Clinical Evaluation of a 1st Generation Interlace Medical Hysteroscopic Tissue Removal System” (The Journal of Medicine) – In Press.

Dr. Miller’s current research concerns methods of controlled ovarian hyperstimulation and luteal support at time of in‐vitro fertilization (he is the chief investigator of a multi‐center study), embryo transfer techniques (comparing transabdominal to transvaginal ultrasound), laparoscopic myomectomy, adhesion prevention at time of laparoscopic surgery and enhancing visualization at laparoscopy.

Dr. Miller’s interests include advanced gynecologic surgery, laparoscopic myomectomy, excision of endometriosis, hysterectomy, robotic tubal anastomosis, as well as the treatment of infertility, especially, in‐vitro fertilization.
