Qualifications:
Dr Rogers obtained his MBChB degree from the University of Birmingham in 1975. He received specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Birmingham Women’s and Maternity Hospitals and at Harare University Hospital (Zimbabwe) and was admitted to membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1980. Following this he trained in Accident and Emergency Medicine, Urology and General Surgery, attaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 1982. He then returned to specialise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and took up an academic post at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1984. He was elevated to Fellowship of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1992.
Gynaecology:
During 24 years as a Senior Lecturer and Professor at the Chinese University Dr Rogers was at the forefront of development of minimally invasive procedures in gynaecology and attained Advanced Level Accreditation in laparoscopic surgery with the Hong Kong College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists.
Obstetrics:
In the field of obstetrics Dr Rogers has published widely in international journals on diabetes, pre-eclampsia and fetal distress amongst other topics. He was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) by the Chinese University of Hong Kong for his work on Pre-eclampsia.
Outside of his Hong Kong practice, Dr Rogers is the senior advisor to the Vietnamese government on emergency obstetric care and safe motherhood initiatives, supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
Dr Rogers is also an invited reviewer for several local and international peer-reviewed journals in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and remains an Honorary Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
